Division of Highway Services Begins Street Sweeping

To improve water quality, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) Division of Highway Services began street sweeping on April 13 to keep dirt, sand and debris out of streams, particularly in sensitive watershed areas. Last year, more than 1,000 tons of potential pollutants were removed from 4,000 lane miles of roads.

The program is a joint effort between MCDOT and Department of Environmental Protection, Read More.
