The Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority (Metro) Customer Service and Operations Board
Committee approved a proposal to add limited stop Metrobus service on Veirs
Mill Road from the Rockville Metrorail Station to the Wheaton Metrorail
Station. The service, if approved by the Metro Board in October could begin as
soon as January 2016. The Q9 service would operate 12 hours a day with free bus
to rail and rail to bus transfers at the Wheaton, Forest Glen and Silver Spring
Metro stations. Metro will hold a public hearing about the service in
September.
