This emergency repair project will take about four months to complete and requires closure of Kinster Drive. Read more.

Red Line Waterproofing Project Extended

Metro is advising customers of evening and weekend service changes on the Red Line starting Friday, December 22, and continuing through Thursday, February 15, to extend a water leak-mitigation project and improve reliability. Trains will single track during the evening and late-night hours on weeknights, in addition to weekends. Read more.

Three Public Right-of-Way Abandonment Public Hearings Scheduled for January 23

MCDOT will hold three public hearings on January 23 in the Executive Office Building (101 Monroe Street, Rockville) Lobby Auditorium to consider requests for public right-of-way abandonments of a 30-foot storm drain in the Cedar Ridge Subdivision, Laytonsvlle; storm drain right-of-way along Harness Point Way, Clarksburg Town Center Subdivision; and a portion of Planning Place adjoining 8787 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. Read more.

County Holds Recognition Ceremony for NACo Award Winners, Including Five for MCDOT

Montgomery County recently held a ceremony to recognize the departments and individuals who won awards from the National Association of Counties. MCDOT won awards for the following projects: GIS Data Collection of Culverts; Mobile Automatic Vehicle Locator; Uninterruptable Power Supply / Battery Backup for Traffic Signals; Ride-On Route 301 – Tobytown Isolated Community; and Nebel Street One-Way Separated Bike Lanes Project. Excavation for the building foundation is nearly complete and is expected to be done by late-January.
