Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Purple Line

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Held for Stringtown Road

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett celebrated the reopening of Stringtown Road between St. Clair Road and Snowden Farm Parkway following an extensive project to widen the road from two to four lanes and add bike paths and a sidewalk that connect to the Greenway Trail. Read more.

Needwood Road Bike Path Opens

County Executive Ike Leggett, MCDOT Director Al Roshdieh and others celebrated the opening of the Needwood Road Bike Path, Phase I, that provides access to the Shady Grove Metro Station and connects to the Rock Creek Regional Trail from the Intercounty Connector (ICC) Trail. Read more.

MCDOT Installs 72nd Bikeshare Station

MCDOT’s newest Bikeshare station is located at Key West Avenue and Diamondback Drive. It’s the second of two, 11-dock stations purchased by the developers of Camden Shady Grove and conveyed to the County. It’s also the 28th station in the Rockville/Shady Grove/Life Sciences Center Bikeshare Network. Learn more about Bikeshare.

Ride On extRa Announcement of Free Service in October Featured on MyMCMedia

Seniors and persons with disabilities can now ride free on Ride On Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. in addition to Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with valid identification. Read more.
