MCDOT’s Ride On Bus System Awarded $1.75 Million FTA Grant to Purchase Electric Buses and Charging Stations
Montgomery County has received an award from the Federal Transit Administration Low or No Emission Competitive program for $1.75 million to purchase electric buses and charging stations for Montgomery County’s first zero-emission buses. Read more.
Ride On Service Changes in September Included Start of New Services
Ride On began two new services on Sunday, September 17 that included the Executive Connector along Executive Boulevard and East Jefferson Street and an extension of service in Clarksburg; as well as other changes. Read more.
PBS Sniper Documentary Filming Includes Tribute to Conrad Johnson
PBS is filming a documentary about the 2002 sniper shootings in the D.C. area. Conrad Johnson, a Ride On bus operator, was killed on October 22 in Aspen Hill. Some of the drivers who worked with Johnson were interviewed about that terrible day. The documentary is expected to be released next year.

Metro Testing Abilities-Ride Program in Maryland
Starting Monday, September 18, MetroAccess customers now have a new, more flexible option for travel within Maryland with the launch of the Abilities-Ride Program. The program offers an alternative to MetroAccess service by allowing eligible customers to use on-demand taxi services--without sharing a ride--at a discounted rate. More.
WSSC Project Along Colesville Road in Silver Spring Will Impact Traffic on US 29
WSSC will be replacing and relocating nearly two miles of transmission lines and water mains on US 29/Colesville Road and the connections to intersecting streets between Georgia Avenue and the entrance to the Beltway. Work will continue until spring 2019. More.
Get Purple Line Construction Updates and Notifications
Construction of the Purple Line by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) and their contractor, Purple Line Transit Partners, has begun. More information is available on the MTA website.

Bike Share in Two Montgomery County Parks
Montgomery Parks has teamed up with Zagster, Inc. to bring a bike share program to the parks. The program launched in Black Hill Regional Park and Wheaton Regional Park on August 24. Learn more.
