June is National Safety Month

National Safety Month focuses on saving lives and preventing injuries – and driving safely is an important way to prevent collisionsDid you know that more than 90 percent of crashes are caused by human error? This includes:
  • Missing road hazards or detecting them too slowly.
  • Choosing incorrect defensive driving actions.
  • Driving in a distracted or altered state, such as having inadequate sleep, being distracted by a phone or dashboard touchscreen, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Addressing what causes crashes, as well as the role vehicles, drivers, road systems and technology play in creating safer roads is the way forward to zero fatalities. View this infographic for statistics and learn more at www.nsc.org/work-safety/get-involved/national-safety-month.
