Talbot Avenue Bridge in Silver Spring Reopened to Pedestrians

On January 7, MCDOT reopened the Talbot Avenue Bridge to pedestrian traffic after repairing a damaged support beam. Read more.

New Lyttonsville Place Bridge Has Opened

Purple Line Transit Partners opened the new Lyttonsville Place Bridge in Silver Spring. MCDOT closed the Temporary Connection at Stewart Avenue and reinstated Ride On’s Route 2 bus service. Read more.

No Reservations Required When Taking Ride On's Route 301 Bus to Glenstone Museum in Potomac

The popular Glenstone Museum generally requires advance reservations, but none are needed for those who take Ride On’s Route 301 bus to the museum in January and February. Four buses run daily from the Rockville Station between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

New Ride On Bus Service Begun from Clarksburg to Germantown MARC Station

Ride On is now offering rush hour bus service on Route 75 between Germantown MARC Station and the Germantown Transit Center via Germantown Road (MD 118).  Read more.

Dockless E-Bikes Now Available in North Bethesda

MCDOT has signed an agreement with LimeBike to allow the company to provide electric dockless bikes (“e-bikes” ) in North Bethesda. Dockless bikeshare began in Silver Spring and Takoma Park last year. Read more.

MCDOT Partnered with Westfield Wheaton Mall on Street Smart Campaign

MCDOT partnered with Westfield Wheaton Mall and the Street Smart team for a virtual reality skills challenge and other pedestrian safety programming. The Street Smart Safety Campaign is aimed at reducing the number of pedestrian and bicyclist injuries and deaths in the region.

Elrich Seeks Applicants for Taxicab Services Commission

Montgomery County is seeking applicants to serve on the Taxicab Services Commission. Openings are for one representative of the public and two taxicab industry representatives. Learn more and apply by February 8, 2019.

Metro Restores Free Customer Parking on Saturdays

In response to customer feedback, Metro eliminated Saturday parking fees for Metrorail customers. Riders who use Metrorail will park for FREE on weekends, with the exception of special events. Read more.
