New Ride On extRa Buses Arriving Now See one of the new Ride On extRa buses at this year’s Montgomery County Agricultural Fair at the Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg from August 11 through 19. Learn more about the service that launches October 2 by watching a short video.  MCDOT Responds During Wettest Weekend of the Year MCDOT’s Storm Operations Center was activated during this past weekend’s deluge to respond to service calls.  Staff reopened 20 roads that were closed due to flooding or downed trees.  Take a Survey About Improving Bus Service Along US 29 Let us know how Montgomery County’s local bus service on and near US 29/Colesville Rd/Columbia Pike (Ride On and Metrobus) could be improved. Take this short five-to-ten minute survey, which will be used to help design MCDOT’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line. Comment on the County’s Draft Vision Zero Plan to Eliminate Traffic Fatalities by 2030 Review the County’s Vision Zero Two Year Action Plan and provide your feedback by taking this survey.  MCDOT Installs Traffic Signal at Multi-Agency Service Park To improve pedestrian and traffic safety, MCDOT constructed a traffic signal at Snouffer School Road and Allison Hollow Way that was activated in July. MCDOT Successfully Promotes Pedestrian Safety at Imagination Bethesda Children and parents visited MCDOT’s tent to learn more about pedestrian safety and take the walk and drive safe pledge. SHA Begins Beltway Resurfacing Project on I-495 In Montgomery County The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration has begun a safety and resurfacing project on the Outer Loop of I-495 between Seminary Road and the I-270 west spur. Residents Invited to Public Meeting to Learn More about SHA Project to Rehabilitate Seminary Road Bridge over I-495 Beginning this summer, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will rehabilitate the bridge on Seminary Road over I-495. WSSC Projects to Impact Traffic on Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road This month, WSSC will begin replacing and relocating water mains along two very busy roads – Georgia Avenue, from Denley Road to Connecticut Avenue, and Colesville Road, from Georgia Avenue to the entrance of the Beltway.
